After the infamous Marbella mayors Jesus Gil, Julian Muñoz and Marisol Yaguë, Marbella now has a new, apparently squeaky clean, mayor - Ángeles Muñoz. A graduate in medicine, Director General of Immigration with the Partido Popular party, she is also married to a Swede who is wealthy in his own right so the theory is that she has no interest in embezzeling the Marbella public funds, unlike her predecessors, allegedly.
During her time of studying, she studied a speciality in the mornings in a Malaga hospital, another in her natal Córdoba and spent the evenings studying.
With her family her stated priority, she cites the sea, the beach and walking through Marbella as the ideal place to relax.
In terms of Marbella having it all, she mentions the Artola dunes as a paradise for those who seek wonderful beaches, La Concha mountain for those who prefer climbing, Puerto Banus for its nightlift, the centre of Marbella for shopping and San Pedro for its seafood. Her personal favourite is the streets in the centre of the Old Town of Marbella, the Casco Antiguo.
